Technically this was on my birthday, September 29. Last week was so crazy that I just decided to drop in and post properly when I could allot the time to it. I didn't want to rush, I was adamant that this would be a proper post laying out what the past year has been like.It all started with me being inspired by my fellow J'can sista and sisterlocks mentor, n'drea. I loved her locks a lot. At the time I still hadn't found myself in terms of appearance, so I experimented a lot. This included having traditional locks twice and a buzz cut at one point. Then I decided I was ready to lock again, but since I had done traditional the first two sets, let me go with Sisterlocks this time around. Being impulsive and never being afraid of taking plunges, I did likewise. And voila - the start, timed perfectly (in truth deliberately) with my birthday. My locks were born on September 29-30, 2008, after 18 ass-crunching hours of pleasurable torture. :-)
Throughout the months I have had a lot of mixed emotions as a direct result of my Sisterlocks.
I have known immense happiness, joy, excitement, patience, fear, disappointment, anxiety, impatience, frustration even. I have even learned a lot about myself and my hair. Who would have ever known that a closely monitored journey through lockhood could bring so much divine wisdom and insight? Not to mention all the friends I have met along the way. What the heck would I do without you guys??? You are the best. Thanks for helping to make this journey so wonderful so far!

Ps. With that said, although I am not at the 3-5 yrs or even 2 year mark ( I won't even try to imagine 8 years or more). I am not THAT jealous of you ladies anymore. :D

1 word!:
OMG! You look beautiful! When I became a vegetarian last year, I lost 12 lbs in less than two months. Eating healthy is beautiful and most important, extends lives!
Your locs are beautiful! Congrats to you! I never thought I could reach that point locked!
May God continue to bless you!
